ok, i want to wire my amp up properly, with a switch. which cable does the switch go into the wire running to the battery, or the blue wire off the head unit? i know.... stoopid question, but im confused. if the switch goes into the pos wire, how do you get a switch into it, caus the cable is 8 gauge. |

your +ve wire goes to +ve on batter, earth goes to earth of course.. and the remote terminal on your amp goes to the blue wire off your head unit. You dont need a switch in the +ve wire, there is a control circuit that will do that using the blue wire off your head unit |

oh and if you want to be able to switch the amp off even with the head unit going (like I have setup for my subs amp) then you put a switch in the blue wire from your head unit... can be any decent 12V switch |

What is your amp running, and what power rating is it? 8 gauge is pretty small |
