hey guys im going to rebuilt my 1.6 motor.
does anybody have any good ideas to get better performance out of it?
I would like to spend as little as possible as i would like to change the motor next year maybe to a 3.8ltr.

Research all possibilities then pick which ones cos they all do different things. |

Well, if you're looking at better perofrmance, then the usual higher compression pistons, more agressive cam, weber carby, extractors and exhaust, new timing chain, head porting polishing and oversize valves are usually the place to begin. That said, it's not going to be overly cheap to get good performance out of a G series motor, so you may be better served by doing a very basic rebuild and saving the additional money to put towards the V6 conversion.
