I have cooked the voltage regulator, It just started smoking after charging the battery, then cranking the engine.
I have recently changed the engine but kept the old dizzy, altanator and carby.
I cant work out where the prob is, or why the fusable link didnt go before the voltage regulator
Any suggestions on where the fault may exit?
Any help would be great
Thanks

sounds like you forgot to hook up the engine earth near the alt the big one. It will only be the black wire that cooked. replace the wire and tape any exposed wires.when you try to start the car it finds the nearest earth and uses that |
