If your engine performs better on ULP than LRP, then i'd say there's a good chance you have been buying from a bad supplier. My first impression is that the servo you get your fuel from has water in there LRP or has cut it with a nasty additive - Ethanol for example.
You have only stated that you use regular ULP and not Premium ULP, this would validate your engine running worse if you switched from Premium to LRP.
The only advice i can give you is to use Premium whenever possible, and to have your engine tuned to suit.
Have a sift through R&D and go on search spree, you will come up with hours worth of knowledge/posts on the subject of fuels.

Don't you need to change the valve stems to hardened ones if you are going to be running unleaded rather than leaded? Because unleaded burns hotter, so therefore you need to change the stems to suit.
You say you are just running stock engine, that can't be good for the engine, can it?

Confused...

The G series engines are fitted with alloy heads, hence they have hardened valve seats factory standard. This allows you to use either fuels.
