hi guys.

you guys have been throwing around XF carbies as a good conversion for a gem? what are these called, and how much could i pick one up from the wreckers for? are they hella rare?

a few mates said u need the get adaptors and shit caus the gem ones arn't compatible, what do i need and where do i get it?

lastly, a mate is donating me his chrome air filter, just like a round one, sorta like the stocko one, but without the pipe on the side, and it's open, and i'm getting a breather for the head. would this increase power at all, or just cosmetic shit?

thanks heaps for the help

Andrew

you can get an adaptor plate from autobarn or somewhere similar. they cost about $35. as for the air filters, they might show up a little increase in power on paper but it isn't very noticeable when driving, that's what i found anyway. also, when u take the standard carby off the gemini manifold, u will notice there is 2 holes in the top. for the best performance you should port this area to make 1 big oval shaped hole. you will see what i mean when u put the adaptor plate onto the manifold.
good luck.
