I need some help tuning my 32/36 dgv weber. i have a g200 usual mods; 2 inch exhaust, pacemaker extractors, 25/65 cam. ever since the cam and weber were put on when i reach about 6ooorpm i hear a loud vibration kind of sound from the engine. it doesnt feel like its just hitting the limit coz theres not a major loss of power like i just let off. i used to hear it at about 5500 but with a bit of 'screwing' around it now feels quicker and makes the noise at 6000. before the carb and cam change i used to take it to 6500 before major cut out. my timing light is stuffed so i dont know the exact timeing. i just put new leads plugs.
can anyone help or know of a good web site?

cheers!

Sounds like you need to check your timing!!

But I dont think incorrect timing can have the effect you have described, could be point bounce or valve bounce.

Since it has occured after the fitment of a bigger cam, valve bounce is a stronger possibilty.

Otherwise, its a mystery!

what exactly is valve bounce? my friend built the engine years and years ago and remembers putting in pistons with the valve recesses(spelling??). could putting in double valve springs help?? if it IS valve bounce, why is it that with a few tweeks of the weber i got it to make the noise at 6000 instead of 5500???

cheers for the replys!

than a few days later i had a few more probs with my alternator, and wasnt sure which wire went too where cos i was fiddling around wit it... So than guess where i decided too go... 'heh' he just didnt fix the alternator which woulda taken me all weekend too figure out and probably still wouldnt off gotten it 100% rite, he also fixed a few other little probs and faults installed a few new fittings, and all in 35minutes....
well offcourse he's gonna charge me this time $$25buks
