hey guys
can you use a vk type remote lock to open a panelvan rear door or not.
and if so how much time and effort would it take.
im in the process of rebuilding the car so there is nothing in there.

any help much appreciated

I was thinking about just buying a solanoid and making my own release.

Basically when u push the button in the lock it pulls a wire up and releases the striker from the lock.

So all you need is a solanoid mounted inside the tailgate that has enough guts to flip up and pull the wire.

If the vk one is remote it would prolly work, tho some cars just have a cable.

i just bought a j-car solinoid and hooked it to a dash mounted switch
