I'm interested in the hopper's kit, I assume there is a bracket to adapt the VT caliper onto the gemini stub axle? I've got the rotors, calipers and pads at work. Did you change to a larger master cylinder?
How did you find them customer-service wise?
Any thoughts, comments, storys, suggestions? |

just wondering if u have tryed DBA221 undrilled disks or audi 4x100 disks??
i have seen thes used and they bolt straight to the gemini stub. then VB-VP
calapers slightly moded to fit on.
i am pritty keen for the $770 set, i juust need the cash now, didnt think
they woould be that much. would the VX calapers suit the DBA disk? if so
would u just sell the calapers with all the brakets and gear and no disk or
stub?
cheers GENE

Gene
As you have seen there are often many ways people find to solve problems,
some look good on the surface but for those of us in the business see
problems in finer details that make us think again.
The use of a DBA 221 (TM magna rotor) will not be as easy as it sounds. It
is a hat type rotor like the Commodore and will still need a special hub.If
they removed the std gemini rotor from the std gem hub and just sat the
Magna rotor in its place you get all sorts of centralization problems and
special machining which the customer has to arrange and make sure is
right.(Over which we have no control)It also has to bought blank and drilled
etc.
The magna rotor is also too thick and would need the pads and cast brackets
filed thinner to go over. There are similar problems with other rotors.
Therefore our philosphy is to make everything as bolt on as possible and
leave nothing for the customer to get wrong.
The Vt rotors and calipers are also readily available so that does allow us
to sell only the hubs provided they are to be 5 stud. If the client wants 4
stud we are not happy about redilling amongst all the existing holes so we
must start with blanks. (this is a stipulation of our Engineer who does our
RTA approvals)
Our hubs are K1045 high carbon steel designed to do the job, not plain mild
steel.
We will sell a pair with bearings, seals, grease caps and studs in 5 stud
comm pattern At$390 a pair, and highly recommend you get our hoses at $88 a
pair. The caliper holes will need to slotted 1mm each but do not need a
bracket to bolt on.

for my gemini i have been playing around with a VL set up front and rear,
and was just wondering if you would sell a upgraded master by itself? i dont
need to move anythign to clear the engin (FJ20DET) aslong as i use a remote
reso'. how much would this be??
thank your
(sorry bout all the questions :S)

Hi
If you can keep your booster then the XB mastercyl will be good attached to
it.
The Xb master cyl (P6258A) has its outlets pointing to the mudguard so it
will clear ok, just extend the push rod on your booster if need be and turn
booster upside down to clear the vacuum valve, repipe to 3/8 ball seat
flares and down to the prop valve and any single and twin piston commodore
caliper will be happy.
This one is $220 and as I said currently out of stock but we can get a used
one reco/ss sleeved for same price if urgent
regards Peter
