well i have started on my new engine this week.
its a bopred out 1800 running 2L pistons that are hypatecs
th block is being o-ringed and balanced. i just need the timing gear and the cam. i think a redline of 8000 is enuff?
any idea on cam?

how do you get it to redline so high?? (sorry if thats a stupid question)

its al in the cam but i need one or should i just grind a standard cam?
the guy who is doing the engine has a gret relationship with crow cams and got me vlve springs at $50 instead or $95

Reground cams are generally cheaper than new billets. Depends how wild you want it. They usually don't add metal to regrind an old cam, they take metal off the base. On a "wild" grind this can greatly reduce the amount of metal, ie strength, in the camshaft. I wouldn't want a thin cam snapping at 8 grand!!

This for the race car or the road?

race car yeah i think i will go new billets
but i wouldnt mind snapping a lobe at 8000
