VHT carpet & vinyl dye. Make sure the arm rests are cleaned with prepsol or wax and grease remover. Same as panels, rub with the soaked rag, then dry with a clean one. Don't let it evaporate off, it will leave a film.

My armrests are vinyl covered foam. Aren't they all?? Surprised)
Plastic primers are good for undercoating automotive topcoat paints to stop them cracking when lightly flexed, as plastic bumpers do.
The VHT I sell, recommend, and personally use, is a dye not a paint. A dye by its very nature penetrates the surface of the vinyl or fabric to change its colour, so has a far greater resistance to wear. But as with your cars exterior paint, preparation is everything.

sorry, had to get the plug in. About $12 a can, and about 15 - 20 colours.
