Just recently purchased a 1980 TE gemini. only one owner before me, lovely old couple. anyway it has never been flogged or anything in its life but i would like to upgrade the engine. whats the best way to go?? rip the whole thing out for an ISUZU, or go all out for a 13B? ive got about $3000 to play with. any ideas, suggstions would be greatly apprieated!

i thought the only motors to come in a gemini
were isuzu with $3k i go for a rebuild |

Yeah i say get yourself a G200 and rebuild it. Thats what i'm doing now, bought myself a whole car with a G200 in it for $600, gonna spend a bit more money and rebuild it. should be good for about another $1000. |

My advice?? do up a good ol' Isuzu donk, cant beat them for reliability, and u definitly can get them to perform. Most of us know that rota gems are fast but there is the issues of reliability, fuel consumption, and the HIGH cost of both time and MONEY.
No offence to the guys and gals with rota gems or anything.
Bottom line... if u have the time and money and can handle all the other factors then go for ur life sounds like an interesting way to go.
thats just my 2 cents anyway!

Go the ROTOR they are very reliable the 2 rotor only has three moving parts apposed to the piston engine with 40+ moving parts..
