I know that there is a page on this in the workshop, but does anyone know why this must be done?
Step 9: Remove rocker cover and the rear stud....?
does this mean you can fit the 1600 rocker cover?
does this mean that it looks the same as the g161?
and why remove the stud?
i dont know, so im asking.......if it does...do a shifty..."its how i got it sir...." in a un-informed voice.

I'll have a look at it tommorow and tell you why you would remove it. It is a tight fit (close to firewall).
I doubt that you could fit a g161 rocker cover.
The 4ZD1 from that article does have the 4zd1 rocker cover on it still.
Cheers.
