G'day, I got a couple of (maybe dumb)questions I need answered. I have a pretty much stock 1600 with a 32/36 weber, extractors blah blah blah. Anyway I've read alot about webers on this site and Ben Wights awesome site on the nikki/weber swap.
1.Does anyone know the butterfly sizes etc. of a stock 2L?
2.Will other webers fit onto the adapter plate for the 32/36?
3.Where is the spring that holds the accelerator bracket back(and keeps throttle closed) supposed to hook up to on a weber?
4.How do I stop fuel from pissing out everywhere when I disconnect the fuel lines?
5.What does all the DGV, DGMS, ADM etc. mean for different webers?
Please forgive my ignorance and thanks in advance for replies!
Phil

M8 I can only answer No.4 - if you open your filler cap b4 disconnecting your fuel line you should solve this problem. If you want 2 block it off long term then stick a bolt up it!

re the differnt types of webers go to:
www.piercemanifolds.com
USA site but lot's of pic's and explanations,

Stock 2ltr?? no butterflies. if you mean the weber carb they may be stamped on the butterflies, the chokes are 32 & 36mm in size butterfly's shouldn't be much different thou,

Return spring I generally conenect the spring loop around the solid end of the gem cable, but depending on where you put the other end of the spring it's up to you.

Cheers
Eggy

1. stock 2L what? do you mean the escort that the 32/36 came from? 32 and 36 mm
2. 38dgms, 38 dgas, 32/36dgv(early escort), and there are a bunch of solexes and 32 or 34mm webers which you don't want anyway (mostly euro cars have these other ones) 38dgas is from 3L capri, 38dgms can only get new (or secondhand from someone who bought it new ie never fitted to factory car) adaptors of this type usually restrict flow, better to get a manifold to suit.
3. don't know this one, as I recall most webers have throttle return springs inside somewhere
4. jam bolt in there
5. DCOE - Doppio Corpo (dual throat) Orizzontale (Horizontal) E (type of casting) also DCO
DGAS, DGMS - same carb, D=doppio (Double) as before A=auto choke (maybe Aqua as they use coolant temp to switch choke)
M=manual choke G= who knows
DGAV, DGV, DFAV DFV - D=as before, F=Ford? A= as before, V=Carb with power valve
IDA, IDF, ADF, ADFA, DCNF, DGEV, DPS, DFTA, DMTR, ICH, ICT etc anyones guess. pretty sure there is no ADM tho'

Close but not quite, its a 34 ADM but who's getting picky? Yes it was from early falcoons, as in Xd/e/f's. If u use one get the leaded one. I too have heard they are not that reliable, just had mine rebuilt, cost me $280 to do so but it;s been really good so far....... I have nfi what ADM stands for. maybe they forgot an A, ADAM.

I stand corrected. as I recall 40DFAV from falcons is quite good, but may not fit on your adaptor.
