Comments on the price of a stockers G200 (with webber). Has been removed to fit 2lt pizza maker? Whoops sorry that's a 2lt Piazza motor. So I assume it comes with clutch, starter, alt etc.etc. Remember though - it's stockers and has been round the block a few (hundred) times.
BTW - I'm not selling one - just thinking bout buying one... |

I bought a G200 in stock but freshly rebuilt (new rings, bearings, acid bath, rebore, hone, timing chain (i replaced it recently for a Crow item), guides, etc.) from the Trading Post for $1150. I was reasonably happy with paying that price as i was fucked around with another G1600 for $650 that was suposed to be rebuilt but was actually in worse condition than the original motor i was replacing. The new 2 litre also came with a 12 month warranty on the bottom end. The head was suposed to be reco'd as well, but i didn't chase any warranty on it as it looked in mint condition and was done at a different workshop. I supplied all other bits from inlet manifold and carb to exhaust manifold. It's performed many burnouts and street races without a single mechanical problem besides: fuel pump needs upgrading, radiator needs upsizing, and alternator bearings are now stuffed coz i tightened the fan belt too far.
But otherwise yeah, i payed $1150 and could have haggled but was just happy to find an engine to get me on my way. I'm also happy with the price i paid due to it being strong enough to take the punishment i give it. So for a G200 that has been around a bit, but doesn't blow any smoke, i'd be happy to pay around the $6-$800 dollar mark. But that's just me and i have'nt had heaps of experience with shopping for these engines.
Cheers,
Jasyn... |
