Cuting springs is not a recommended practice and illegal in most if not all states. A better option would be to measure how much you want to drop it, be realistic about this figure, then drop them off at your local springworks with your measurements and get them to reset them. Keep in mind the front end works on roughly a 2 to 1 ratio, so by lowering the spring 1" will lower the car 2". The rear is about 1 to 1. Also the springs must stay entrapped when the car has its wheels in mid air so the springs can't fall out when your jumping over speed humps, unless you've lowered it too far in which case you wont even be able to drive over a speed hump.Another thing to keep in mind if you lower the standard springs is they have a soft spring rate & when you lower your pride & joy you also reduce the bump stop clearance,so when your out cruizin with 3 of your hairy mates in the back it could be a rough ride. Really the best option is to save up & buy a set of heavy duty lowered springs, the car will ride & handle much better

depending which part of the country you live, about $150 a pair. REPCO is a national distributor for kings and there are a number of suspension specialists and auto shops also.
If anyone is into circuit racing, kings have front & rear springs specially developed for gems by GSA Wholesale in Brisbane, the man raced gems & is a wealth of infomation, can't think of his name but mention gemini & racing & you'll find him

George Sheppard? GSA are a real friendly mob, nice and local to me too. That said, even before they employed me, I preferred the company that I work for over the spring brand you mentioned.

Anyone here know the name of the navigator who won the inaugural qld. gemini series?
