That crazy Gemini wagon that has prompted so much debate recently was, in fact, a Summernats Top 10 finalist, according to the February issue of Street Machine that hit the shelves yesterday.
Drago Ostric's TD Gemini Wagon received perhaps more awards overall than any other in the top 10, but was listed at 7th - no shame of course - 7th out of 1000s of cars is pretty damned good! Especially for the V8-loving Summernats fraternity.
Perhaps it will herald a new era of Gemini appreciation!
Awards Drago's Gemini Wagon scored included;
Peoples Choice
Top Pro Street
Second Body
Second Engine Bay
Second Display
Third Undercarriage/Driveline
Third Standard Paint
People's Choice? Who said Aussies don't have good taste....?

Seriously, how difficult a job to the judges have? There were many cars that, in terms of quality, just couldn't pick a winner. |

I dont remember seeing many really nice gemmy vans, but I didn't get into the main pavillion untill Sunday and only saw the soundoff.
What colour/engine was it?

It was greeny yellowy sort of metallic colour - there are pictures of it at Fullboost.com - and a link on this forum under IDAREU2's Tuff Gemini Wagon posting.
Not sure what engine it's got - under all that chrome and colour, it's hard to see much at all - bedazzling!!!
Otherwise, pick up a copy of the current Street Machine - it's in the section on Summernats, and it's hard to miss. If you do pick up a copy, make sure you put it down again if you don't plan to pay for it.
Cheers,

Its not the one with a monster tacho and two other gauges grafted into the TG or TF dash is it, sort of yellow interior. If so, I saw it at the melbourne motor show.

Summernats was the cars first show - in its new form - so no it wasn't the one at melbourne. |

Umm, it may have been listed 7th in Street Machine, but it didn't necessarily come 7th. They all just get a "Top Ten" award, and they aren't actually separated. So yeah, there's no way of knowing if it came 2nd, 5th or 10th.

Unless they changed it this year??...don't think so though. |

I saw it at the Melbourne Hot Rod show yesterday. It was bloody unreal! Also a nice TG sedan (GMHGEM)there amongst the hot rods. |

Sorry - you're probably right, but they had numbers next to each foto and information blurb, so I just assumed seventh, cause there was a 7 there!
Although many of the awards were for runner-up, he had more accolades there than anyone, including People's Choice, so maybe he should have been first! |
