Well, I really love rebuilding engines, so I'm doing it again.
My carb leaned out at 18psi, cracked a piston ring land. Was hoping for a good 12 @ around 109mph. I was running 18psi for a fortnight before it happened. I was about to turn it up to 22psi on avgas, as I have such cool inlet charge temps after the intercooler.
I actually thought my mixture meter was playing up and giving me false readings. I was wrong, the meter was spot on.
I got to the Gordon exit coming from Ballarat, and then had to turn around after I saw smoke coming out of the tailpipe.
It'll be running by the end of next week, so I will be at the next calder meet after that. Then I'll be at the next Heathcote meet after that, and so on. Arrart Hill climb is on Dec 3rd, its the best one of the series, I'll hopefully be installing new suspension and LSD before then. |

What's this about Heathcote tomorrow??
I might rock up! What do I need to race?
I might drop you an email Ben if you're going to be there. Or just to find out details.
I haven't been to a meet letalone driven down the quarter before. |
