dont really know much about parts under the hood of the car but on my gemi there is a little white box type thing near what i think is the coil. looks like a fuse. this seems to be getting real bloody hot. is it ment to do this. or could i just have all the wires around the wrong way. if someone has some type of wiring diagram that could help me. can supply a picture of the thing im talkin about

are you refering to the balast resistor? does it have a wire going to the coil itself?

is the balast resistor about 4cms long and white. yeah it has a wire going to the coil but i dunno if the wiring is right.

a balast resistor will work either way you hav it. i think they get hot wen there is too many volts going to them

will this stuff my engin. it got real hot. got this nice red mark on my hand thats how hot it got.

It's a resistor. It drops voltage from 12V to 9V to make your points last longer. To get rid of the 3Volts, it does it by converting that energy to heat. So yes, it will get hot.
