he never said stock stereo, he said he wants a stereo in his stock gem. putting a stereo system into a car does not mean the car can be put in the mod section, because its still stock.

r u sleeker than slick?

im thinking of buying a wagon/pv some time soon and was wondering about rear speakers
in the side of teh back is there much room for 6x9's
is there much volume in the side at the back (ie alot of space)

i know the front could just be some good splits but they wont put out much bass and i cant afford a sub and amp yet
but have a set of 6x9's

i would also like to see some ideas

i guess i will work it out when / if i get a wagon

nah, u wont. 6x9's would be the worse thing to put in to a wagon. (unless they were in some kind of enclosure)

yeah thats what i though
i sorta designed a enclosure out of mdf for 6x9's and a sub but yeah it would end up beaing as wide as the interior at the back and the 6x9's would be on a slight angle facing the fron they will be right behind the back seat and the sub would be on the other side facing the tail gate
there would betwo compartments inthe box ie one for the sub and one for the 6.9's to keep them seperate

but yeah im not sure i will have to wait till i get one

If you took the time to seal the area behind the arm rest beside the rear seats, mounted them to a 12mm or 16mm MDF board, and angled them slightly, you'd get a pretty good bass response. Not as good as a sub, but good none the less.

Two things against putting them in the tailgate.
- The weight of the speakers would tear the trim apart when you closed the gate.
- If you mounted them to a heavy board to stop this, you might have to upgrade the gas strut to stop the bastard tailgate smackin' you in the scone!

Yonnee.

we upgraded to 12mm MDF, sounds ok, but its not sealed behind. gas strut still holds it up.

in a pannel van what did they do with teh space for the arm rest?

what do you think would be a better option get a wagon and put panels in it
or try and find a pannel van ???

im thinking it would be handy to still have the back seaats they fold down right???
