How long should they last before replacing?
i checked mine the other day and im thinking i should replace them they have been in for about 1000km
but becuase my engines a bit rooted they are already brown and burnt looking
still sparking though |

lol.
they're gonna look burn't the moment u start your car after replacing them!
brown is stoich 
white is lean.
black is rich.
if they're not causing misfires, leave them til they play up. |

yeah i know they go brown theres are brown dark
and the spark last bit is getting pretty black
cars not running rich or lean just oils getting burnt in tehre also
but should i replace them mor regulary not that teh ring are fucked or just wait till they start giving up |

1000k's is a bit soon. 10,000k's is more like it.
The colour is an indication of how fuel efficient the motor's running. A plug is worn when the centre electrode has become quite rounded-off at the top. This wears away enough to increase the plug gap, causing the ignition system to work harder to jump the gap. If the gap becomes too big, it will not fire or fire at the wrong time causing the ignition system to break down.
Under load is when you'll first notice worn plugs. |

yeah they still seem to spark ok so im leaving them in but yeah just wondering really
fuel i worked out before my odometer stoped working i get about 100km per $10 which is about 12lt thats constant fanging it and a bit of cruising |

| yeah 1000 km is low. they shouldn't have eroded too much by then. clean them with a wire brush or point file if they get fouled |

If you're engine is getting a little tired and worn, try using NGK BP5ES spark plugs.
They run a little hotter than the 6ES to help burn off any oil due to blow-by.

| The BP5ES has a better resistance to pinging as well because it is a colder plug. |
