1000k's is a bit soon. 10,000k's is more like it.
The colour is an indication of how fuel efficient the motor's running. A plug is worn when the centre electrode has become quite rounded-off at the top. This wears away enough to increase the plug gap, causing the ignition system to work harder to jump the gap. If the gap becomes too big, it will not fire or fire at the wrong time causing the ignition system to break down.
Under load is when you'll first notice worn plugs.

yeah 1000 km is low. they shouldn't have eroded too much by then. clean them with a wire brush or point file if they get fouled

If you're engine is getting a little tired and worn, try using NGK BP5ES spark plugs.
They run a little hotter than the 6ES to help burn off any oil due to blow-by.

The BP5ES has a better resistance to pinging as well because it is a colder plug.
