Hi guys, I needs some help here.
OK, i would like to put a 2ltr, or 1.8 DOHC into my Gemini.
Iv already ripped out my G161.
I have to now start researching what i had to do to make it fit and legal.

Iv been told that it bolts straight in.on the engine mounts.
Radiator can stay the same?
The starter motor is on the other side?
same tail shaft can stay .i dunno whats right or wrong can some 1 clear things up for me

1.does it use Gemini starter motors?(SINCE ITS ON THE OTHER SIDE)
2.alternator?
3. what does it need to engineering it?
4.brake up grade?
5.heater hoses that run from the cooler to the engine are they the same?
6.will the box bolt straight up under the car?
7.will the tail shaft be fine?
8.speedo cable?

anything im missing?

What parts are needed.
Motor, box.
what else is there to make it work.

Does any1 know how much the engineers will cost?

does any1 know where i can get it engineered in melb?

my email is joeysgem@hotmail.com
im from Vic,melb

some twin cams DO bolt straight in...some DONT

my one does and it is for sale

to get these legalised you need big ventilated front brakes and fuel neck filler to unleaded neck.

with the engine i have it bolts up to existing tailshaft etc....im selling mine for $1500 and that includes gear box and hi flow exhaust and wolf 3d computer...

1. A couple of weeks ago somebody on this site said the starters are the same.
2. They look the same but not sure because the sticker is missing.
3. Not sure.
4. Front brakes on ZZ/T are the same but it comes with rear discs and a larger master cylinder with remote resovoir.
5. They are the same as TX heaters (an entry on each side of the engine, where the rubber grommets are on a late model) and have a small switch beside the blower cover to control the heater.
6. Looks the same as standard 5-speed.
7. Only if it is fine spline.
8. Most likely the same but not sure.
All these are compared to my ZZ/T, also I can supply some pics if you need any.

I forgot a couple of things:
Both hoses on the radiator are on the passenger side, the crossmember is the same and the rubber mounts look the same but could be heavy duty because the engine weighs about 30kg's more. If you plan on using EFI you will need to source an original computer and loom or something similar if you are using aftermarket injection. The engine mounts are different so make sure you get these as well,to tell the difference between the engines that bolt in and the one sthat dont have a look at the oil filter, bolt in ones will point forward and down, the ones that dont the oil filter points up (on these motors the mounts and the sump are different). Hope this helps.
