I have to fix the heater to get my car roadworthy, its the last thing i have to do.
The radiator is staying full as i fixed the head gasket leak by using chemiweld (i know its shit, i just have to get it roadworthy so i can change over the rego then i will rebuild the engine)
I have taken both the heater hoses out and flushed it all out from both ways. I have checked the thermostat, its still in there.
Anything else i could try before i go about changing the heater core. Someone PLEASE tell me how to get this bloody heater, heating.
Cheers,
Sam |

by the way anything you put in teh coolant to fix head leak also helps block up radiator and heater etc so you may have just blocked it up more |

Yeah i know that, i need a new radiator also. But the water is flowing freely through the heater hoses, then through the coil and out the other hose. It is also flowing from the engine when i turn the engine on without the hoses connected. How much should flow out of those ports that the hoses are connected to, a really strong flow? What do i do if it isn't flowing really strongly out of those ports from the engine? |

there should be a decent flow, but not at a very high pressure
perhaps the heat selection slider has a snapped cable? |

With mine the wire gets pulled out from its housing when it gets switched to heat, not pushed in.
The slider slides Cold --> Heat this way, and the cable goes off into the heater <-- that way...
gotta love text diagrams. |

Does it move the flap when you move that cable?
I might be able to have a quick look this aftrenoon if you like.
