| Does anyone out there know what the trans codes on the compliance plate near the radiator translate to.... mine says M40 ... mine is an auto, but i remember the early holdens (kinga's and commo's) had a manual box called an M21, so i thought M40 could be a manual box too, since i got a 5 spd to put in mine, it would save me getting a mod plate after i convert it if M40 = maual box... anyone help?? |

M40 = 3 Speed Tri-matic
M20 = 4 Speed Manual
M75 = 5 Speed Manual
M76 = 5 Speed Manual Diesel |

| Your talking about the manufacturers plate, the compliance plate is the one that list the make/model, date of manufacture, list of ADR's, etc. But I dont know what the transmission codes are, sorry. |
