I was searching through the mountains of g180 and g200 posts on the forums, and saw this.

"IF i was to do another g-series gemini i would go a worked g200 or a g180 if i couldnt find a g200, i wouldnt bore out a g180 tho."

How come you wouldnt do a bored out g180, is it simply because you have allready had a g180 and would go for a change, or because you think the g200's would go harder.
Also how much you estimate the whole cost of your bored out g180 cost ya?

A G180 has a thinner wall thickness than a G200 so you can’t bore them out as much

(brother owns a mechanic buisness, gget everything threw him cheap as)

just personal choice. no need to bore them i guess just level i or get a g200 if u want 2L, just my opinion i guess. not saying theres anything wrong with doing it

A worked 2lt, up against a worked 1800 bored out to a 2lt (presuming they are both worked to equal proportions...ooo big word...) would the 2lt win, and out of the two which would be fasest off the line, like i think you said something about killing a g200 when you hit second gear, but if they were both worked would the 1800 still win because it has higher revs?

well the fasted N/A gemini uses a 1800 and runs low 12's?? im guessing if the g200 was better they would have used that

sounds pretty good at full noise too,

its a wagon, not sure on specs, has/had dragways on it

12's is fucking fast out of a na 1.8L was it on NoS?

Firstly n/a = naturally aspirated, so no "NoS".

I think the g180 is a better engine due to its relatively "square" bore and stroke design.

Apparently if you want to run high compression the 1600 head fits on much better too as opposed to the g200.

Same goes for Dennis Mobbs' panno, he runs an 1800 with a decent sized hair-dyer and has run 10's consistently, with the odd 9 sec pass thrown in for good measure. May be running quicker now as the last time i read about it was like almost 12 months ago, he said that he had plans to go faster.
