anyone could help me? I have a new batt (less than a year), distill water for batt is fully top up, alternator fan belt was tight...what is the possible cause that the batt is 1/4 dead?
well i can still manage to crank the car till the batt dead..please advice

Alternator internals might be worn out. Voltage regualtor might be worn out.

depending on what brand it is it should still be under warranty. Century etc 2yrs but if u got a crap brand maybe 3-12mths. Battery may have a dead cell or could just be faulty, take it to someone with a good battery tester and they should be able to tell you whether its the battery or your car's charging system..

Could be an alternator - on geminis the fuel pump runs directly off the alternator, so if your alternator fucks up your fuel pump wouldnt be getting any power. And if your alternators dead, thatd explain why your battery is 3/4 full.

To check the alternator, unplug the wires off the back, and then run a single wire off each to the positive terminal on ur battery. If it manages to start, then ur alternators deffinatly fucked.
