OK here goes. So i installed my head unit Sony. CAn someone tell me do u connect the red (power) AND yellow (memory) both to the 12V Plus, or just one? Coz i got them both on there and the clock doesnt stay set wen u turn the car off.
I got my Cig lighter light hooked up to the same 12V plus as the stereo. Should this be OK, coz i think ones AC and one DC?? tell me if im wrong. thnx guyz |

None of the power in your car is AC so dont even worry about that. You have your red (power) wire correct but for the yellow you need to connect it to a constant power source. In my gem I think the cigarette lighter is permanently on so hooking it up to that would be ok I guess. I just ran a new wire out to the battery and stuck a fuse in it. Make sure you pick a good earth too or else your head unit will dim to the beat and thats crap... I used one of the bolts that holds the dash on for my head unit's earth. |
