| I have an 83' model TG with a 3 speed auto, and want to change it to a 5 speed manual. my insurance company said it was ok to do this as long as there is no cutting of the body to fit the transmission in, so i wanted to know if it is a straight swap between the 2 or does the body have to be cut to fit the 5 speed trans onto the gemi, thanks. |

| you have to cut a new hole in trans tunnel so that the shifter can come through the floor |

| And what is the point of that? its easier and cheaper to fit a manual transmission than go out and buy a whole new car. |
