Weber fuel/air mixture

Allo,
I have a 32/36 Weber carb on my car and I wanna know, if I turn the mixture screw all the way in and close it off, how many turns back to I do it for it to be right?
Its jetted alright for my car etc etc everything is OK, and the timing is good, it just shudders a bit when it idles so I am guessing that its not getting enuf fuel...
So whats the correct setting for this?

I don't know the answer to that for that carby, but its going to vary a bit for each individual case. You can adjust the mixture after the engine is at operating temp and correctly timed (7-12 deg?). It helps to have a tacho or multimeter with rpm. Set the idle to 900. Turn the mixture screw anti-clkwise 1/4 turn and let the engine settle for 10 secs. If the rpm increases, keep turning 1/4 turn in that dir and check engine speed. When it decreases, turn the screw back a 1/4 turn. If it decreases on the first 1/4 turn, then screw in the opposite dir. If its spitting back and the engine's properly timed, it may indicate a lean mixture. If the idle goes over 1000 during the process, adjust it back. Hope this helps.

Its generally about 2 turns, but for fine tuning, its when the engine idles the highest and smoothest.
