i just got a tacho out of an old honda acord its the right size to replace the clock but i can't get it to work

it has three wires .. black,blue and yellow
how do i hook this up its the extra wire thats got me buggered

i'd be thinking, positive, ground and the negative side of the coil?

all accords were 4cyl right? cause if it came from a six it probably won't work

try using the search up the top, theres been heaps of posts about wiring up tacho's from other cars and aftermarket ones etc

Sorry can't help with the wiring just thought I'd let you know if the tacho did come out of a six you can get them recalibrated to a four. I got my tacho out of a 6 cylinder ford cortina which I had recalibrated and fitted it where the clock was in my TD. It had only 2 wires though, red and black.

yeah got it workin yellow to battery/ign blue to coil black earth
