Water Pump Question

allo,
what I wanna know is....what is that small hole in the water pump? You know, the one that is underneath it? is it like a breather pipe or what? Is there meant to be any water coming out of there? cause there is water coming from mine, and its not my gaket or anything like that, cause I have just put on a new one and sealed it with goo etc...
HELP???

the hole is a drain hole. when the seal inside the water pump stuffs up it leaks out of the hole. time for a new pump
p.s get a pump with a cast impeller they last longer than a pressed steel impeller
