| is it common for an automatic transmission gemini's to make a bang when the kickdown is used or is there another cause |

| its a usual thing. i have driven many auto geminis. they all did it. it sounds like the gearbox went BANG and fallen out. |

My auto used to do that to. A mechanic told me there was nothing that could be done to fix it and that the auto gearboxes were actually used on bigger engines as well. The only way to stop the bang is to put a manual in which is what I ended up doing. 5 speed, way better than auto.
