| just wonderin if VDO Head units are any good or if they are dodgy? coz i found one for around 400 bucks brand new. |

Yeah, VDO Dayton headunits aren't too bad, one of the mid range brands. Go to your local JB Hifi and negotiate with them on the price of their JVC KD-SX985 headunit - 4x45w output, 3x 4volt rca preouts, mp3 compatible and good sound quality. Shop around, you may be surprised by how cheap you can get stuff nowadays. Cheers  |

| most brands are pretty much on par for that price... just go in and listen to a few in your budget, have a fiddle with them, decide which ones have the best sound/features/etc for the price. JVC make an mp3 compatible one for under $400, thatd be good if u got a burner at home. im sticking with pioneer from here on in.... |

| i would go there but i live in a dodgy town with not many car audio shops all i got to choose from is dick smith that has sweet fuck all range of stuff and repco thats where i saw the vdo one and i have no way of gettin to any bigger places like geelong. but thanx for your help n e way. |

| pioneers good indeed i have pioneer head unit and 6 splits im putten them in in like a week then im also going 3 vdo dayton 1000 watt 12" rs guna kill it people |
