hey guys
I own a Tg gem. Lately the temp has been getting over halfway every time i drive it. I have Flushed the cooling system and refilled with Coolant, i also took the Thermostat out. ( is that a good idea?) i know that the water pump is in ok condition because i have had it off before. I dont know what to do next.
Also when i check for oil sometimes the dipstick reads absolutely empty ( bar a tiny drop on the end) but if i dip it a few times then it reads full.
its confusing me....
Any help would be great. |

when checkin ya oil an old bloke(my dad-mechanic) once told me pull the stick out, clean it, put it back in and twist it a few circles around fully down the hole, then see how it reads. i live in townsville and i used to have the thermostat out but after a while i got off my ass and fixed that and found the temp was cooler because it holds the water in the radiator for longer makeing it cool down more. hope this helps you in a little way..... |

try a new thermostat, if that doesnt fix the problem, the brass temp. sensor in the bottom of ur manifold could actually be faulty. |
