QLD it has to be 100mm clearance to the lowest point of the car except the diff center, (this includes your exhaust. and it have to be 45mm from the bumpstop to where it bottoms out (the diff) which ever comes 1st.

the qld transport site has a pdf file you can download and it tells you all that sort of stuff. maybe you should try the site for your state cause yobbo and gene are both quoting qld legislation.
