I have read the work-shop article on re-tensioning the head gasket after fitting a new one. I've racked up just over 2000 kays after getting a new one, the mechanic i used keeps bitching about too much workload every time i go to get it re-tensioned. He took 3 weeks to fit the damn thing and i know he will take approx. 2 weeks just to re-tension it. I've gotten hold of a torque wrench, but am a little hesitant at the words "It will be something along the lines of:
Stage Nm Lb.ft
1 68 50
2 81 60
3 98 72"
I dont like the idea of "It will be along the lines of..."
Does anyone have a Gregory's at hand for the actual final torque settings for the head bolts for the G200, or know if they are the same as the G161?
Any info would be mucho appreciados.
Cheers,
Jasyn...

hey dude
when i recently did my head gasket, i asked about retensioning the head after a couple weeks, and i was told that because it is an alloy head it doesn't need done, can't quite remeber the reason just that it doesnt need done, so yeah that makes things easier

Cheers, I ended up finding the info that i needed from Repco. Funnily enough it's the G180 that is the only engine that has slightly different torque settings. The 1.6 & 2 litre have the same settings initial and final settings.
Thanx again.
