twincarb 's' laser

i know that in the 80's, ford brought out a 2 door twincarb laser. i just want to know what sort of carbs they were running, as it may be a potential cheap source of 1600 downdraughts....just drill out jets ect..

does anyone here know what type of carbs they were [brand], and if possible the throat dimensions of said carby?

The KA - KB model ran from 1981 to 1985.
The 'S'(Sport) model came out with the Mazda E5 (1.5L Twin Carb 8V SOHC).

Im not sure if they would be the same for the KA/KB, but i know that on the 1.6 Carb engines that came in the KC, the carbs were -
Make: Aisan
Type: Twin throat down draught

the throat diameter of these were -
Primary - 28mm
Secondary - 32mm

i guess these may have been the same on the twincarb 1.5.
I posted a message on the www.fordlaser.com forums for an exact answer from someone on there with this model, so i will let u know when i get a reply!

my mate has one of those early model 's' 2 doors and it has twin side draughts, i think the carbs are solex's
