hello all,

i'm gonna have about $1700 to spend on a engine for my gem, and don't know whether i should re-build my g161, or should i go and get a g180 or g200 block, and rebuild one of them.

my question is, is there that much difference between these 3 blocks as far a kw's are concerned, and do they go in easy, ie. do i have to change the mounts, or do both block, g180 and g200 bolt straight on to the standard mounts, also, can i use the carby, manifold, head, etc. off my current g161.

i want to keep it standard looking from the top, and deffinitely am keepin the standard carby. i know i'll have to change the radiator and get a bigger one, but is it only that?

also, will the head off my gem do a good job on the g180 or g200 block, i am planing to spend about $500 on the head, that is get bigger vavles, port and polish, and a nice cam.

also, an1 that has done this, post any mods you had to do to fit the g180 ot g200 block in.

thanx. chris.

hey buddy i used to have a g161 but changed to a g200
all u have to do is to put the g161 mounts onto the g200 and it fits straight in although u will need a 5 speed box
i also put the g161 head onto the g200 block with no probs as of yet
