Worth While?

Hi i recently blew my head gasket on my Gemini TE.
i bough a smashed up Gemini for $300, 5 Speed, Extractors, Mags.
I am thinking of putting the old engine from the smashed up gemini into my car now and hope it lasts 2 months till rego runs out!
Heres the question!
Is it worth doing up my original Gemini engine?
Bore it out to the max, new pistons, valves, new carby and maybe a turbo if i have the money?
Would it peform better than a newer engine???

ofcourse it would. thats why it costs more to bore it out and stuff. If i didnt, whats the point of ever doing it?

so an sr20 powered gem would be slower than a worked 1600???hmmmm.....
