| We bought this 1979 TD wagon in '93 and put it to work for seven years in the Noosa hinterland on a delivery service. The odometer now totals in excess of half a million kms. The car is generally stock but to help with the stop/start nature of the delivery service we added heavy duty brake pads, carbon fiber clutch plate, triple core radiator and high capacity cooling fan. It had the mags and sports steering wheel when it came to us. My brother and I decided to take a week off in '97 and drove from Noosa to Darwin, the return drive took us 38 hours to cover the 4200 kms. That included fuel stops a shower and meals. On it's 21 birthday we decided it deserved a rest and used it as the shopping trolley till this year when it had the rust removed and was re-painted, re-carpeted, re-upholstered, a full rubber seal kit fitted and a 4 channel 45 watt per channel sound system with 12 disk stacker was installed. |
